August Hardeland, b.1814, was a German protestant missionary in the service of the Rheinische Mission. He served twice in Kalimantan, from 1839 to 1845, and again in the 1850's, engaged in translating the bible into Ngaju, as well as his everyday work. This dictionary is on the Ngaju as spoken at Pulopatek.
